New Update 4/18
Last month our community suffered an unimaginable loss. The creation of this mash-up came from a creative writing assignment from one of the children who left us too soon. The final words were about flying up to the sky. I asked students to write down song ideas that we as a community could possibly sing together for the family. Someone wrote down Yellow by Coldplay. I listened to their recording and began singing counterpoint melodies that I knew would work beautifully.
On April 26 from 6-8:30pm I am personally inviting any/everyone who loves to sing and wants to help a family heal through this impossible journey ahead of them.
Depending on how many people RSVP will determine the location of where we perform. (Auditorium/Gym?) TBD!
We would also like to collect donations to be given to the familiy as well during the evening.

I just spoke with administration. I misunderstood when I heard that our central office approved it, I thought I was all set to get the ball rolling. The last piece I need to take care of is that I need to confirm with the family that they are comfortable with this event taking place. For now I need to cancel this fb event, but those who are still interested, stay tuned. I'll update this when I have all the information..
It may just mean that we need to wait to do this at a later date, when they are ready.

Hey Everyone,
Please read and think about RSVP'ing. I'm hoping to have a pretty solid idea of a headcount so I can arrange the rehearsal and recording space properly.
I arranged a Coldplay Mash-Up and made a scratch recording of what we'll be singing that night. It's on my SoundCloud and the link is in the event page below.
