Congratulations class of 2017. You are an amazing class who will do wonderful things in life . Reach for the stars and be and 11. We are all so proud of you!

Pat Shearer, I hope you saw for yourself this day what Mike Duprey means to not only these children but others as well. For a brief moment in time PVRS was once again a proud school. The air was full of love and spirit.
These past two years have been very hard on these students and the ones left behind. They have endured sadness and great losses. Once a school full of hope and happiness and fun to go to turned into mourning and dread and thanks to Mike Duprey for the last few moments for this class at least it was a time of high spirits and hope.
Sadly for those left behind they will endure more loss with Cathy HH now gone and beloved teachers as well. These people cannot be replaced with these kids or others and you will continue down the wrong path till you return to this school and these children what has been taken from them.
High School is a time of memories and fun and learning with teachers who support and care about your future, and you are taking the heart of PVRS and destroying it .These kids do not want to be here anymore and the families do not want their kids here anymore.
Pat for once stand up and do whats right for the school and the kids and fix what you have done. The Superintendent , Principal and V principal are all bad for this school and its spirit . Can't you not see this? It's only gonna get worst for you till you fix what you have undone.
Look at the mess the school is in , the Union is involved and soon the state will be as well. This is not leadership this is destruction and poor leadership.
I warned you a year ago about the destruction Miller leaves in her path and I warned you about  Mike Duprey not being at the school. I am now warning you if you do not undo this mess and bring back Mike and Cathy HH and these teachers PVRS will self destruct and you will have no school to be a committee for . Letters have been written to the state by parents and others. It's a matter of time before they will take over this school.
Be the leader Pat Shearer you were voted in to be.

After being met with overwhelming applause from 70 Pioneer Valley Regional School students reunited with their former vice principal, Mike Duprey advised them all to be an 11 on a scale of one to 10.
Elevens, Duprey explained at Friday’s commencement, are trustworthy, dependable, morally strong, respectful leaders who do the right thing all the time, even when criticized, and who hold themselves to the highest possible standards.
“To do this, you need to establish your own value system,” he said. “Anyone can be an 11, it’s just a matter of attitude.”

Part of that attitude, he advised, involves accepting responsibility for one’s own actions.
“Everyone must look inward and accept the good or bad in their own choices,” Duprey said. “I am responsible for my greatness, and my own failures.”
Looking back on her six years at Pioneer, Salutatorian Elizabeth Sweeney remembered the community being “unlike any other,” and asked her departing friends to find what makes them unique.
“Shed that special light of yours on the world around you,” she said. “Spread your greatness all over.”

Got a problem with this

I have got a problem with this story.
Wednesday evening as seniors  go to PVRS for a sleep over , not only were their bags checked by Igor ( Resource officer ) But a drug sniffing dog was also brought in.
So, why wasn't this protocol done at a dance, minus the dog?
Kids will be kids and these kids learned a hard lesson fast. Except when we were kids it was alcohol and don't deny it , we all did something we weren't suppose to .

Violation of school handbook? I think the kids have learned a valuable lesson here. I think suspension is a bit steep and instead should be banned from school dances, which would be a harsher punishment,or in school suspension.
While were also at it , bullying is also in the student handbook and is not tolerated so, why do we have a Principal and Superintendent that gets away with it? You might wanna question that one as well.

NORTHFIELD — Three freshmen girls were taken to Baystate Franklin Medical Center Friday night as a result of substance abuse during a dance at Pioneer Valley Regional School.
According to Northfield Police Chief Robert Leighton, the call came in at around 9 p.m. and Officer Igor Komerzan, who is also the school’s resource officer, responded. The students, two from Pioneer and one from Franklin County Technical School, were complaining of dizziness, nausea and difficulty breathing.
“One of them was on the floor,” Leighton recounted. “Two were transported by ambulance, one was transported by a parent.”

Leighton said the students’ ailments were caused by their consuming brownies containing marijuana, which he said one student brought and shared with the other two.
“It wasn’t the average type pot brownies,” he said. “A marijuana concentrate was used … We believe that’s why the children had such a severe reaction.”
Leighton explained marijuana can be processed into a paste, creating a higher Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) content. Whereas marijuana typically has a THC content of 2.5 percent or less, Leighton said, marijuana concentrate “could be 100 percent pure.”
Leighton said the Police Department obtained remnants of the brownies and will have it analyzed to conclude its THC content. Through an investigation, the department will find how the students got a hold of the marijuana.
Having violated the student handbook, Superintendent Ruth Miller said she suspects the students’ punishment will involve suspension.
“Kids made some very poor choices,” she said. “It’s just a very tough lesson for kids to learn the hard way.”
“The school has done a good job this year of pursuing issues of drug possession in the school,” Leighton said. “We have no tolerance for drugs in our school.”

A post not to miss

Are you frigging kidding me! Miller attending a variety of school functions..REALLY!! You never see her and if she does show up she stays 10 mins and slips out . What a joke.Not to mention a lie.
Lets keep going :
Her ability to lead is disgraceful at best , and bullying is not considered high standards at any level.
But the biggest news I have for you, and teachers you can use this to help yourselves. 

At work today I spoke with a man who worked in Templeton in the school system while Miller was Superintendent. He stated and I will give you the short version.

1- Miller is a compulsive Liar. She will be nice to your face but don't turn your back.
2-Whenever something went wrong she would find a victim to throw under the bus to protect herself.
3- Unable to direct and guide. 
4-Put the school in deep financial debt, they are just now two years later starting to come out of it .
5-Falsifying reports and lying about teachers to justify her firing them .( This would happen if you spoke up against her or her boyfriend) REMEMBER THIS NAME  JOHN GRAZIANO

He just resigned from his position at Templeton Elementary School. Was also told that if you cross him in anyway , Miller will get rid of you .

6-Threatening and bulling teachers and personnel.  

You are living Templeton's fears and horrors PVRS and the only way to fight her is with the truth and you must stand up and speak it . Bacon as much as I don't like you , be warned you will be a target  for her . Just like the Principal at Templeton was. 

To much destruction she has left  in every school she has been in .From NH to Mass. 

 SC do your job and open a search for a new superintendent before the state steps in and takes this school over .It almost happen in Templeton don't let it go so far that it happens here.

 PVRS teachers time to visit Templeton and learn the truth.

LEYDEN — The Pioneer Valley Regional School District School Committee shared its evaluation of Superintendent Ruth Miller during a meeting Thursday, and the results are not as favorable for Miller as in 2016.
Though she received a “proficient” rating following her first year as superintendent, this year the majority of the School Committee found Miller “needs improvement.”
Miller was evaluated using four standards: instructional leadership, management and operations, family and community engagement, and professional culture. School Committee Chairwoman Patricia Shearer and member Robin L’Etoile compiled members’ comments, and based on their responses, chose a rating on a scale from “unsatisfactory” to “exemplary.”
It was found Miller “needs improvement” in 18 of 20 subcategories, and “proficient” in the remaining two subcategories involving supervision and evaluation of staff, and commitment to high standards of service, teaching and learning.
Some committee members called Miller a “significant asset to the district” who offers “competent and committed leadership” by making herself available, attending a variety of school functions and reaching out to parents, students, teachers, principals and town administrators.

“The STEAM curriculum is off to a good start after support and grant writing from the superintendent,” noted one member.
“Ruth has supported development of the online courses to expand learning opportunities,” added another.
Some members appreciated Miller’s work to align the budget process according to state and federal mandates, and said her “budget expertise provides (the) district with stability.”
However, others disagreed, writing that Miller presented unbalanced and confusing spreadsheets that often included inaccurate numbers.
“I’ve been involved with the budget process for eight to 10 years and this was the most confusing year ever to follow and understand,” one member commented.
Some members disagreed with how budget cuts primarily affected the high school teaching staff, while administrators received “hefty” raises. Miller also “made very questionable administrative hiring decisions,” some said, “hiring people with very little experience at the levels they were hired for.”
Some committee members considered honesty to be lacking, and said Miller “does not fully answer questions when asked but redirects the issues.” In particular, though Miller said answers to public questions would be posted on the Pioneer Valley Regional School District website, the page hasn’t been updated since October.
A flaw in the process? Some meeting attendees disagreed with the School Committee’s evaluation of “needs improvement,” praising Miller for her communication with town officials and principals.
“Her communication with our Finance Committee has been exemplary,” said Lois Stearns, chairwoman of the Northfield Finance Committee.
“I feel I do indeed get guidance and professional support,” Warwick Community School Principal Elizabeth Musgrave said. “I’m sitting here feeling dismayed to hear this rating.”
Musgrave noted no one asked for her opinion as an administrator, though it was not allowed by the School Committee, leading to further discussion regarding changing the evaluation process.
“I do think that’s a flaw in our overall process and something I hope we can correct,” said committee member Sue O’Reilly-McRae.
At April’s meeting, O’Reilly-McRae proposed expanding the evaluation process to include input from principals, Selectboard and Finance Committee members, parents and other community members. However, the committee decided to push the vote on her proposal to next year.
A need for training? When asked by School Committee member Peggy Kaeppel what will happen next, Miller said she’ll read through the individual reports and respond at the next meeting, which will be held June 22 at 7 p.m. at Pioneer. However, Miller said she feels the results show “there needs to be more understanding of the tool itself.”
“I think the committee hasn’t had a lot of training on it,” Miller said of the rubric. “It’s not just saying things, you have to use evidence … They did more of the traditional ‘This is just what I’m thinking right now.”
Miller also felt some of the district’s strengths were overlooked in the evaluation process.
“Instead of looking at the whole entire district, there seemed to be a laser focus on Pioneer,” she said. “They made a clear message, obviously, that I need to do something about Pioneer. But there wasn’t much mention of the elementary schools that are all doing remarkably well.”

To little to late

For a year now we have told you about Miller and her bullying and how she is very vindictive.  These teachers have every right to be scared of her retaliation ,She did it to Bill Wehrli, Mike Duprey, Sharon Jones and a tech who wouldn't comply to her demands .
The statements made by Miller below are lies and she damn well knows it . I can bet  these teachers did something to piss her off. Go over her past employments she is following true to course. Within two years she will destroy a school and by the third either moves on or is asked to leave. 
I for one blame the School Committee, they were warned and told NOT to hire Miller and because of their carelessness our school is a mess and the loss of the previous administration was the final straw for many, not to mention Cathy HH being asked to leave.You also now  have parent's searching for other options for there kids education. 
I think it would be in the best interest of the school and teachers for the Dept of labor not only speak with the past Administration ( Notes were taken with  dates and times of the abuses) and to contact past employers concerning Millers behavior as well.  They too feared her and her retaliation.
Miller, Bacon, and VP Jenn all need to get walking papers. They  are not suited for PVRS and in this last year have shown this to be a fact. They have destroyed the spirit of a once happy  school environment.Let me make it clear,NONE OF YOU WILL EVER BE ACCEPTED OR BE WORTHY .
Keep up the good work you guys and keep the newspaper and TV stations informed and don't back down. Taking this step you have made us proud and you have more support than you know.  Stand strong your a Panther !! 

 






LEYDEN — The Pioneer Valley Regional Education Association (PVREA), the local teacher’s union, announced before the Pioneer Valley Regional School District School Committee Thursday night it plans to file an unfair labor practice charge against the district.
Claire Brennan, inclusion specialist at Pioneer Valley Regional School and a member of the union, read a statement Brad Brousseau of the Massachusetts Teachers Association (MTA) prepared on the PVREA’s behalf, outlining how faculty have “developed a growing concern and fear of retaliation by actions of district and school administrators.”
In the statement, shared during a meeting at Leyden Town Hall, Brennan recounted how union members, particularly at the middle and high school, have previously come before the School Committee to discuss problems within the Pioneer community and as a result, they fear for their jobs.
“These (reduction-in-force notifications) and non-renewals have been vindictive and based on favoritism,” elaborated Amanda Boulay, a seventh-grade English teacher at Pioneer who was “asked not to return next year.”
Boulay spoke before Brennan, expressing her hope that the School Committee “will look carefully at which teachers spoke out and which were asked not to come back.”

“These actions stifle dialogue in the district about important issues and may have affected the employment status of PVREA members,” Brennan read. “They create a climate of intimidation and hostility … These behaviors must stop.”
The PVREA, Brennan read, thus plans to file an unfair labor practice charge with the Massachusetts Department of Labor Relations within the next several weeks.
Brennan told The Recorder Friday the process began earlier this month when the PVREA met with MTA President Barbara Madeloni and a lawyer who works with her.
“There are teachers here that are very concerned, very afraid to speak,” Brennan said. “And basically we were told by our MTA president that we’re stronger than we think we are.”
Brennan said she believes the MTA is currently in the process of gathering information from teachers.
Superintendent Ruth Miller told The Recorder she was “very thoughtful and used the contract” when determining the reductions-in-force, and her proposals were reviewed and approved by PVREA’s president and vice president, as well as an MTA representative.
Miller said “there must be some lack of clarity,” and should an unfair labor practice charge be filed, both sides will have the opportunity to discuss their thinking with a hearing officer.
“They may feel that I made a mistake. I feel very badly if I did, because this is talking about people’s livelihood,” she said. “But if there’s a different interpretation, this will give us the chance to talk about it..

Really PVRS

Of all the low down stunts this administration has pulled off these past two years , this was the lowest. We complained prior to the prom that things were messed up and you had the NERVE to make us think we were over reacting . REALLY! You ruined this evening for these kids.

First off you screwed up and didn't do your jobs to ensure a proper place to hold it  and have it in Brattleboro where they hold the Farmers MKT and Strolling of the Heifers! NO EXCUSE PROM IS THE SAME TIME YEARLY.

Than you have a damn pizza place cater it , which was also done poorly and no Gluten free food was available like was promised. So kids went WITHOUT DINNER . Than not even an hour in you  run out of water ! Not to mention eating off Styrofoam plates  and instead of being served had a buffet ! Tables and chairs were so close together you couldn't get up without having someone else move as well.

Not to mention only one person from the Prom committee showed up and no decorations except kids drawings on a wall. What memories this committee made for these kids that night. Disgusting to say the least .

The music was also done badly , But hey  like you said this 8th/ grader was great! Not what we heard .Not to mention the dance area was so small nobody could move.

Kids left early and were so depressed at how this played out .

You ruined this night for these kids. Period! I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR AN EXCUSE, NOTHING CAN UNDO THIS DISASTER YOU CREATED FOR THESE KIDS.

This night was suppose to be a night to remember, where you go to an ELEGANT establishment for dinner, where you are waited on and served food on plates not damn Styrofoam and plastic utensils! Where you dance and have fun with your friends, and you took that away from them. UNFORGIVABLE!!!!!!!

I am gonna also call Brattleboro PD and ask if they were contacted as well prior to this night . God help you if you lied about that too. 

Parents want there money back  and I think they are due. 

PARENTS WE NEED TO CONTACT THE SCHOOL AND DEMAND OUR MONEY BACK . 
 I thought maybe you would like to hear some replies from the kids who went . Sit down parents this is gonna send you flying, so much for this Administration putting kids first . 
Lets destroy the  school and  than work on  the kids at  one of the most important evenings they will have in High School . Priceless.
